confidence over his party winning 60 seats in Delhi polls.
10:30 am: Congress leader and President Pranab
Mukherjee's daughter Sharmistha Mukherjee says she is shocked to see
BJP declaring Kiran Bedi as its CM candidate. Mukherjee says the BJP
is lacking leaders in Delhi and that's why they had to rope in the former
police officer.
10:20 am: Congress leader Ajay Maken hits out at
Bedi, Kejriwal says, both of them used Anna Hazare to fulfill their political
ambitions.
10:15 am: Union Minister Dr Harsh Vardhan,
who is also attending the roadshow, says, "This kind of affection from
people isn't new for me; I have been enjoying this for over 20
years now."
10:10 am: Kiran Bedi's roadshow starts in Krishna
Nagar constituency. Partly leaders Dr Harsh Vardhan, Vijay Goel are
accompanying Bedi.
9:30 am: Bedi pays tributes to Lala Lajpat
Rai at his memorial in Krishna Nagar constituency.
9:15 am: Addressing media before heading to
the Krishna Nagar constituency to file her nomination, Bedi, says, "Our
Delhi can become a good Delhi. We (BJP) will do good practices. We will ask for
a security perception index survey. That will tell us which area has more
insecurity and which area has more security. This will probably be the first
time Delhi will see the security perception index."

with a tea vendor and a newspaper seller.
9:05 am: Bedi says she will everyday meet the
common people to have a first hand knowledge of their problems so that she can
address them appropriately.
9:00 am: Bedi will also take out a roadshow before
filing her nomination papers from Krishna Nagar constituency of East Delhi,
which is a BJP stronghold. In the past Dr Harsh Vardhan has been elected
three times from the same constituency.
8:45 am: BJP chief ministerial candidate Kiran
Bedi will file her nomination on Wednesday for the February 7 Delhi Assembly
Elections.
Today is the last day to file nomination papers for the
elections.
Union Minister Harsh Vardhan had successfully contested last
Assembly elections from Krishna Nagar seat.
65-year-old Bedi, the country's first woman IPS officer, was
named the BJP's chief ministerial by party president Amit Shah after a meeting
of BJP Parliamentary Board Monday night.
It will be a hectic day for electoral officials with several
senior leaders including AAP chief Arvind Kejriwal and Congress' Ajay Maken,
filing their nomination papers.
Scrutiny of nominations papers would be done on January 22
while the last date for withdrawal of candidatures is January 24.
Voting for Delhi Assembly Elections 2015 would be held in a
single phase on February 7 with the counting of votes scheduled for February
10. Delhi has 70 Assembly seats.
In 2013 Assembly elections BJP had won 31 seats, AAP 28 and
Congress 8.
Delhi has been under President’s Rule since February after
the AAP government quit after ruling for 49 days last year.
The total electorate of Delhi is 1.3 crore and the total
number of polling stations are 11763.
